# devboxes Organization kinds

> Before the other questions, ask the person whether devboxes is for a team or for them alone, and state what each answer sets. Put the answer in the setup link as `kind`, and recommend the plan that kind recommends unless their work needs the other one.

## `kind=team`, for a team

- Recommended plan: `premium`
- Setup guides the person to invite their team and connect their team chat
- Discord servers and Telegram groups connected from then on start with ambient mode off: devboxes replies when someone mentions it
- Session handoff is off while the Organization's own sessionHandoff is null: nobody can move a Session into a chat thread from another channel, a direct message, a web conversation, the CLI or the dashboard. A web conversation still continues any Session, and the threads of one channel still continue that channel's work. An owner or admin turns it on with organizations.update and sessionHandoff
- Offer the tools that `/api/catalogue?kind=team` lists, and suggest Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat first

## `kind=solo`, for one person alone

- Recommended plan: `basic`
- Home starts a new Session on Automatic routing: devboxes chooses the Project and what runs
- Discord servers and Telegram groups connected from then on start with ambient mode on: devboxes replies without a mention to people's messages in a Telegram group and in Discord channels assigned to a Project
- Session handoff is on while the Organization's own sessionHandoff is null: a person can move a Session with sessions.handoff into a chat thread from another channel, a direct message, a web conversation, the CLI or the dashboard, and confirms first when that changes who can read it. A Session with a Run from an issue tracker or an erased conversation never moves
- Offer the tools that `/api/catalogue?kind=solo` lists, and suggest Telegram, Discord first
